Want to put Louder Pipes on my 2007 1200 Custom Sportster?

I am looking to replace the stock pipes with something a little louder yet still reasonably priced. The stock pipes are to quiet. I am not looking to be obnoxious but am looking to have vehicles around me hear me before I am right next to them. I was recommeneded to put drag pipes on but am leary of it because I don't want to loose power and back pressure. Also looked at the Vance and Hines pipes but would prefer not to spend $350.00 to do this. Thanks for any help...Want to put Louder Pipes on my 2007 1200 Custom Sportster?
New pipes will be expensive.

A relative has Screaming Eagle pipes on a Sportster. These have a sweet sound. These are street legal to help you stay out of trouble. Loud, but not too loud. But they will be expensive.

the pipes wont make it louder!, what you need is glas packs and headers.
Actually, you ARE looking to be obnoxious. What benefit will more noise give you? Other drivers won't hear anything unless their windows are open and their radios are off. Now, what effect will your noise have on EVERYONE ELSE on earth who comes within earshot? (Hint: annoyance!)

If safety is your chief concern, improving visibility or using your horn is a more sensible option, no? Why not spend your money on something that actually improves your ride?
