Opinions on pipes for 07 hd dyna street bob, black denium.?

looking to make it look a little more bobbed out and snag some more power and sound(getting a stage II big sucker and chip) just looking for some thoughts on what vance %26amp; hines set would give it the best look and fit. Site wasnt too helpfull if they would all fit or fit with just a slight tweaking(still have mid controls but plan on changeing when i get the money) and im looking to do it all myself. Side shots, short shots, big shots, big radius 2 into 1, or the big shots. looking to wrap'em as well. what are you thoughts, will they all fit? do i just suck. let me know what you think.Opinions on pipes for 07 hd dyna street bob, black denium.?
V%26amp;H are no doubt some of the best pipes on the market for harleys. BUB makes some nice pipes too you might want to check out and you can get them black jet coated already to match your bike. as far as tweaking you wont have too. they all come with great detailed directions and are pretty user friendly. if your going to wrap the pipes with heat wrap then why spend so much on the V%26amp;H just a thought. maybe consider sampson pipes, they come or most of them come without heat shields and you can baffle them for the same perfromance, at half the price. remember your on a closed loop bike you can tune it all you want but it will still run at 14.7 fuel air, unless your in wide open throttle, and whoever you have tune it does it correctly. but as one of the other guys mentioned stop in at your dealership and check out there catalogs and winter specials too. i would stay away from screaming eagle pipes, they are all epa controlled now and do nothing for performance.
big shots will give you better performance than the short side shots, they produce nice bottom end torque and good top end power. good luck with the fuel pack they can be a pain in the but sometimes, have someone that is familiar with it tune it for you. k

I prefer 30 inch long drag pipes!!!But then ive got a 120 inch motor so I dont really lose that mach performance
I'm sure the parts guys/gals at the dealership can find out which ones fit the best. I like the V%26amp;H slants on a bobber. I would upgrade the carb too.Opinions on pipes for 07 hd dyna street bob, black denium.?
I'm partial to the H-D Screamin' Eagle II pipes. I have an S %26amp; S "E" model carb on my '99 FXDWG, and the pipes were recommended by a buddy who said they would go well with that carb. Hanging off the TC-88 motor, they look great. And they sound good, too! If you are easy on the throttle, they whisper. If you gotta pull up next to grandpa and let him know you are using the lane you are in, then a quick twist of the wick will wake his ancient butt up pronto. (If it don't give him a heart attack.)

Somewhere on my Yahoo 360 site is a shot of the pipe side of the bike. The chrome on the pipes still sparkles after all these years. (And I park her outside. I don't have a garage.) She gets a cover sometimes, but not always. H-D has the best chrome in the business, and they know what is good for their bikes, also. (Except for carbs. I can't stand the Jap carbs H-D puts on the carb models. Which is a moot point since they don't make carb bikes anymore.)

And as for mid controls, they blow. At least if you have a 36 inch inseam they do. I sat on an '06 Dyna with 'em when I was thinking of trading in the '99 and I though I was gonna bust a hip trying to get to the shift lever! I got forwards on the '99, but still had to put on nerf bars and hiway pegs. Long rides were killing my legs. It may be cheaper and more comfortable to just go the hiway peg route in the beginning if you have no prob with the shifter and brake. Good forward controls and installation ain't cheap. I got my nerfs and pegs for a little over $350, installed, at the local H-D dealer.

Do you suck? Not asking the question would have sucked. Now you have some choices, and more information from people than had you not asked. You may recall the saying the only stupid question is the one not asked? Well, in this case, you can say the only question that sucks in the one not asked. Get the big catalog free, at the local dealer. Go through it. Info pertaining to what fits on what, and with what other equipment, is very thorough in the H-D catalog.

What am I talking about? Well, the H-D catalog will tell you if a certain item will work if you have an oil cooler installed, certain chrome engine items like side covers, etc. For example, I could not have installed the nerf bars and pegs if I had an oil cooler. (The H-D oil cooler that is. There are aftermarket oil coolers that will work on my scoot.) Not all parts catalogs will tell you this. They will say they fit a certain year or model bike, but not tell you if another accessory will hamper the install.

And the whole idea of a bobber is to keep things simple. The H-D SE II pipes are as simple as it gets, Just a little script on the back pipe saying "Screamin' Eagle II". (I'm not a bobber guy. I got all kinds of crap on my bike. Windscreen, package rack, big fat "Mustang" brand seat, sissy bar, and all kinds of little doo-dads from the H-D catalog.)

God luck with the pipes. The pipes can make, or break, your bike in the looks department. I've seen nice bike with crappy pipes, and marginal bikes that looked and sounded good with the right stuff. Need anything clarified? Drop me a line. I do e-mail and IM from the avatar pic. Ciao!
Now this is just me but I like the Dynatune pipes with fishtails on my shovel.
Damn, is anyone going to answer your question; or just ramble on what they have? Dude, V%26amp;H makes good pipes. If you plan on wrapping, try the short shots. I advise you to order at the Harley shop or at least confirm the part# you will need for your year/model bike. BTW you are going to want more power after your little upgrade. If power is of concern at least ask the Harley shop about recommended head work and gear driven cams. Your Displacement is good stock, but you owe it to yourself to do some research on the two items I mentioned. Good luck.
