after the exhaust system with stage one air kit was installed by a certified HD mechanic and download done by HD the bike acts up.When the bike is turned on it sputters or coughs, idles up but when idling down it sometimes turns off. Once on the road I don't have any problem only when I turn it on. I would like to know if anyone has had that problem and if so what was it. This only began after the exhaust system and download were installed.|||It could be numerous things...., fuel pressure, Throttle Position Sensor, Idle Air Control Motor, Engine Temp Sensor, Intake Leak, Exhaust Leak, etc.....best bet is to take it back and explain what's going on.
This is worth noting though....if the tech and svc dept were any good they would have informed you that the Stage 1 Download is intended for ALL HD parts ONLY. Meaning, Screamin Eagle Slip-Ons and Screamin Eagle Air Cleaner ONLY. ANY deviation from that and the download is almost uselss. The V%26amp;H slips are alot less restrictive and more free flowing than the SE Slip-Ons, meaning they are allowing the engine to flow more air through the engine. What they SHOULD have explained to you is that you needed to have the Screamin Eagle SUPER TUNER installed and have it dyno TUNED. The Stage 1 download is a generic map from HD that they "claim" is ok for all engines, EVERYWHERE, IN EVERY CLIMATE, IN EVERY ALTITUDE....BULL$hlT!!!! Every engine is as individual as we are as humans, each needs a little finesse and tuning to make it operate to its fullest potential. The difference between the Stage 1 Download and a dyno tuned Super Tuner is like night and day.|||certified HD mechanic forgot to test ride it for 20 miles after install..... hmmm coincidence?
