Will a new intake make my harley louder?

I have a 08 street bob with vance and hines short shots. Will a new intake make my harley louder?
No, that's like trying to inhale loudly to sing.

V%26amp;H shorts, you're loud enuf now.
Sleepy doesn't know as much $hit as he thinks he does. Turbos actually quieten the exhaust because the turbine "chops up" exhaust pulses.

And yes a new intake and or air filter can make your bike louder. Not at the exhaust end, but at the intake down by your right knee. You will get more "intake honk" noise. A bystander won't hear it, but chances are you will, unless you ride sans windshield and after you are traveling fast enough for the wind noise to drown out the honk. Unless you are a rare individual, you'll tire of the unique noise quickly. Take my word for it, if you're into noise and you think you are impressing bystanders, exhaust noise is much cooler than intake honk. Will a new intake make my harley louder?
Only if you reverse the firing order, but watch your butt your pants may be on fire.

(frigging Harley riders, Vance %26amp; Hines Short Shots and they want it louder?!? please! does louder make you are better rider? or even make the bike perform better. WTF, it's like taking the muffler off a lawn-mower, doesn't cut the grass any better but your neighbors love to invite you over for dinner, just because they know if you are there they don't have to listen to your frigging loud mower, but I'm sure they appreciate that you keep your yard looking good.)

Sorry, just venting out the wrong end. Why I suggested the reverse firing order.
1 Have a little consideration for the majority of people who are unimpressed with the sound of your low horsepower antique.

#2 You will have to put the price of your already overpriced bike into parts and shop time to even begin to give it anything like barely acceptable power. And then it still corners like a Winnebago. Will a new intake make my harley louder?
Bikes with an airbox can create more (or different) noise if you alter the airbox. I believe that H-Ds do not use the airbox-type induction. On some bikes (often with 4 cylinders) the howl of the airbox overcomes the exhaust note for the rider 鈥?the experience for the spectator is different.
Turbos, Blowers, NOS are just some of the ways to modify your intake to make the engine louder.

I'm wondering if nobody else mentioned this because they don't want you to know?

I missed the memo on that one.
no....new pipes with no baffles yes...

check out Martin Brothers in Austin, TX. they make custom and oem replacement pipes. they were also on Biker build off in mid 2000's
Intakes no.

Exhausts yes.

The sound of a Harley with shortys, is Not Noise,

it's music!
Not much.

More air = more air noise, but I doubt it'll even be noticeable with Short Shots.
Noise from any engine comes from the exhaust. So mods on the exhaust pipe makes it louder "only"
