Need suggestions how to get scratches out of exhaust pipe?

My stepdad laid my new vstar 650 over scratched the mirror and my vance and hines short pipes. I scratched the bottom pipe up pretty bad. Is there anything i can do to get the scratches out?Need suggestions how to get scratches out of exhaust pipe?
You wuold have to start with a steel wool ... perhaps a fine steel wool if we're talking light scratches, or a heavy steel wool if we're talking deep scratches. You'd have to buff all around those scratches with the steel wool. You could perhaps get some steel wool pad attachments for your drill and use it like a steel wool buffer.

This will turn the scratches into a buffed, lightly scractched-up patch. You then move on to a finer steel wool, and work that over, increasing the size of the spot (you have to work out to the edges of where the heavy steel wool stopped, so you can cover those over).

Then you'd move on to a buffing pad and some rubbing compound or abrasive polishing agent. You'd toss a buffing pad onto your drill pad, apply the liquid buffing/rubbing agent, and go to work on it. The compound contains very find abrasive material in the liquid substrate, so it will buff out the fine steel wood scratches. Again, you'll have to work out to an even larger area to make sure you cover the fine steel wool spot.

Eventually you move on to a finer and finer polihing compound. You'll eventually need to polish the rest of the pipe so it looks even and matches the spot(s) you've been working over.

This is not for the faint of heart, and if you do it wrong, it will look like ****. You may want to look in the phone book for a body shop or motorcycle repair shop that does body work. They can either do this, or would know of a metal-working shop that knows how to polish stuff like this up. It may be more pricey to get this stuff polished out than to just buy a new set of pipes. It all depends on how much and how deep the scratches are.

Next time, when your drunk step-dad says "here, son, let me show you how a REAL man handles that thing"...you'll tell him to go f off. :)Need suggestions how to get scratches out of exhaust pipe?
the mirror is probably chrome so no chance of getting those scratches out, most exhaust pipes on cruiser bikes is steel coated in chrome and if thats what you have then you are out of luck but if its aluminum then you just start sanding and sanding
