VANCE AND HINES STRAIGHT SHOT SLIP OnS?

What are your thoughts on them. I have a 2009 Dyna Super Glide custom. I was considring changing the entire exhaust system but then I have to buy a fuelpak and then the pipes i would want cost like $600 and since i would have to have it remapped i would probably want to but a SE heavy breather since i'm doin it anyways so that turns into a $1700-$2000 investment including installation which I dont have right now. the staright shot slip ons are $289 and from a friend of mine who has owned several harleys in his lifetime and acually sells them says that you dont need a fuelpak or any type of new fuel managment system. plus their cheaper and if police ever break your balls about them there slip ons so its easier to change. do they have a nice sound? I want the bike to rumble and have a nice loud sound to it, the stock pipe just doesnt do it for me. so with the slip ons is that all i would need except the installation or is there anythign else i would need to buy and should i buy them in the first place.|||If you run them without baffles your bike isn't going to run as good as it did.Engines need back pressure in the exhaust.Straight pipes without baffles are the worst choice to run for pipes.|||Buy a Jap bike. It is cheaper to buy, maintain and the modifiy. It will also run circles around a HD.

Loud pipes are just that LOUD and annoying. LOUD pipes do not save lives. Learning how to "really ride the bike does"|||Vance %26amp; Hines makes a good muffler.Probably best to get the fuel pack and high-flow intake also.|||My Sporster had a similar to your stock system. I just punched the welch plug out from within the muffler itself, sounded like a Harley should after the operation. Much cheaper and if the Police do pull you over the approval numbers are on the mufflers. My bike was a 2000 model, they may have changed the mufflers since then, it's worth a look though. The Vance %26amp; Hines do sound good but they are quite loud, if you want unwanted attention this is the way to attract it. You may find another brand that is cheaper and look just as good in the Custom Chrome catalogue. Good luck
