Will black Vance & Hines Twin Slash 3" slip-on mufflers fit on black Vance & Hines short shots?

I recently received a fix-it ticket for having too loud of pipes because of modified exhaust (strict California sound laws, i know). The officer informed me that a muffler should fix the issue. I currently have Vance %26amp; Hines Shortshots Staggered black exhaust on my harley 1200 sportster.(http://www.vanceandhines.com/products/sportster-0708-ssstagblk/sstag-blk.html)

Was wondering if these black Vance %26amp; Hines Twin Slash 3" slip-on mufflers (http://www.vanceandhines.com/products/sportster-twinslash/twinslash.html) would fit on the shortshots and function in lowering the noise.|||Sorry, but your idea won't work.

ANY set of slip-on mufflers are designed to clamp onto the original stock header pipes and then get bolted to the original stock exhaust bracket that mounts to the frame.

Your idea of adding these mufflers to your existing short-shots won't work because the pipes are not designed for mufflers (wrong length, diameter and positioning), the short-shots themselves are already using their own specific bracket bolted to the frame, so the mufflers will have no way of mounting to the frame.

This is why you never get rid of your original stock parts.

You will either have to locate and buy a stock exhaust and add slip-ons or buy a good set of performance muffled pipes.

FYI...even with tuning, the short-shots SUCK for performance, they are only for looks and sound. You get much better performance with a stock header and slip-ons and proper tuning, even better performance with a muffled 2-into-1.....

If your bike is an 07-up injected engine, you WILL have to have the injection re-tuned for optimal performance.
